Cloud Spend Management

Cloud Costs Under Engineering Control

Allocate budgets to cloud accounts with dedicated cards and configurable limits — designed to keep infrastructure spend within approved boundaries. Availability varies by region and partners.

Cards are issued through licensed program partners. Products and services are subject to eligibility, availability, and applicable fees. See fee schedule.

01Budget Cards

One dedicated card per cloud account

Instead of sharing a single corporate card across all cloud providers, you assign a dedicated virtual card to each account — AWS, GCP, Azure, or any other platform. Each card carries its own approved monthly cap, so overspend on one account cannot silently consume budget from another.

When a charge would exceed the configured limit, the card is designed to decline the transaction automatically — before the overspend occurs, not after. Engineering teams get the autonomy to operate; finance teams get the control they need.

Per-account isolation

Each cloud provider account gets its own card. Spend on AWS cannot bleed into GCP budget. Clear separation for reconciliation and audit.

Configurable monthly caps

Set the approved monthly ceiling per account. The card may auto-decline charges that exceed the threshold. Subject to program configuration.

Multi-cloud support

AWS, GCP, Azure, and other cloud platforms. One control layer across your entire infrastructure spend stack.

Instant card issuance

Generate a new account card in minutes. No waiting for procurement cycles or corporate card requests.

Cards are issued through licensed program partners. Auto-decline behavior and card features are subject to program configuration and availability.

02Overspend Prevention

Know before the budget runs out — not after

Traditional cloud cost management is reactive: you see the bill at month end. Overspend prevention is designed to change that. Configurable thresholds trigger notifications to the right people at the right time — before the budget is exhausted.

At 70%, your engineering lead gets an early warning. At 90%, finance is looped in. At 100%, the card is designed to decline new charges automatically — no manual intervention required.

70% — Early warning

Engineering and team leads receive a proactive heads-up. Time to review active workloads and defer non-critical jobs before budget pressure builds.

90% — Finance escalation

Finance and budget owners are notified. Decision-makers can approve a top-up, pause non-essential tasks, or allow the cap to enforce naturally.

100% — Auto-decline

When the cap is reached, the card may decline new charges at the network level. No surprise overage bills. Subject to program configuration and availability.

Alert delivery methods, notification recipients, and auto-decline behavior are subject to program configuration and availability.

03Cost Allocation

Every dollar tagged to a project, team, or client

Engineering teams rarely work on a single project. A startup might run separate microservices, a SaaS company might have multiple product lines, and an agency might bill infrastructure costs back to individual clients. Multi-project cost allocation is designed to track each of these separately.

By assigning dedicated cards to each cost center — whether that's a microservice, a product line, or a client project — you get per-project spend visibility without custom tagging pipelines or complex cloud billing configurations.

Product lines

Mobile app, web platform, API service — each tracked separately.

Microservices

Per-service cards with limits aligned to expected compute budgets.

Client billing

Dedicated cost center per client. Clean data for invoice generation.

Environments

Production, staging, dev — separate budget pools with independent caps.

Cost allocation features are designed to provide visibility and support accountability. Actual reporting capabilities are subject to plan features and availability.

04Spend Reports

Reports that work for FinOps, finance, and auditors

Infrastructure spend data sitting in your cloud provider console is only useful if you can extract it in a format your finance team can actually use. Our reporting tools are designed to generate cloud cost summaries organized by team, account, cost center, or time period.

Export to CSV for spreadsheet workflows, PDF for audit packages, or integrate via API into your existing FinOps toolchain. Every transaction is logged with category and team metadata from the moment the card is issued — no retroactive tagging required.

Team-level summaries

Aggregate spend by engineering team, cost center, or department. Each team sees only their own budget consumption.

Period comparisons

Compare Q1 vs Q2, month-over-month, or against approved annual budgets. Spot trends before they become problems.

Audit-ready formatting

Reports include card IDs, timestamps, merchant data, and approval metadata. Designed to complement SOC 2 and ISO 27001 review workflows.

FinOps integration

Export formats designed to complement tools like CloudHealth, Apptio, and custom FinOps pipelines. Subject to plan features.

Export formats, API access, and report features are subject to plan tier and program availability.
